Picture
Ariel Lambrecht-May (Mrs. May) is a Southern California native. She earned a Bachelor of Music Education (Vocal Emphasis) from Chapman University's Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music in 2010. While at Chapman, Mrs. May participated in Chapman’s world-renowned University Singers, co-founded Chapman’s premier cappella group, SoundCheck, and was president of the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA) collegiate chapter. She studied voice with Margaret Dehning and piano with Laszlo Lak. In 2014, she graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Masters in Teaching Music. Mrs. May has had the honor of conducting ensembles including the Chapman University Singers, University Choir, and the Orange County Women's Chorus, and has studied under such conductors as Joseph Modica, D.M., Eliza Rubenstein, and Chelsea Dehn. She has extensive experience as a vocal teacher, conducting master classes and lessons with students in classical, musical theater, and jazz repertoire. From 2010-2013 she served on the vocal and piano faculty at the Young Americans College of Performing Arts. Her students have gone on to become teachers, performers, and recording artists.

In addition to teaching, Mrs. May enjoys performing with choral ensembles throughout Orange County and Los Angeles. She has been a soloist and chorister with the Pacific Chorale, Meistersingers, De Angelis Vocal Ensemble, Orange County Choral Society, and the Orange County Women's Chorus. When not rehearsing or performing, Mrs. May enjoys spending time with her husband, also a musician, and their dog, Gemma.
